Make a difference in a life for one who served to protect yours. . . . . . Volunteer to foster one of our mom and dads that create future service dogs.
Our mission can only be obtained through the help of our volunteers. Puppy Raisers are responsible for nurturing the puppy through adulthood by teaching him or her essential house and public access skills.
They are required to attend two training classes with an approved USVSD trainer and one public outing with an USVSD trainer. We support our volunteers by giving them everything they will need to raise the puppy until 14-16 months of age when they return to us for formal training.
When the puppies graduate with their new life partners the raisers are encouraged to attend graduation, hand over the leash, and meet the veteran whose life they have just changed forever.
There is no prior experience necessary, apply to be a puppy raiser today!
